Climb Hard Cider Company in Loveland Colorado

By Friday, April 10, 2015 0 Permalink 0

Since going paleo a few years ago, one thing I’ve missed is beer. I’ve replaced it with cider at home, but that isn’t always feasible when out at a bar with friends or co-workers and especially hard at concert venues. Yes, some places will have the generic ciders like Strongbow, Magners or Angry Orchard (which I refuse to drink), but those tend to be high in sugar and give me a killer headache the next day.

Luckily Colorado is home to many Cider companies, which include some of my favorites! Last weekend Jonathon and I took a little road trip up to Loveland Colorado to taste what Climb Cider Company had to offer.

I Can’t Give Up Shampoo – My Hair Is Too Greasy!

By Monday, August 18, 2014 0 Permalink 0

The most common reaction I get when I tell people that I don't use shampoo is "Your hair looks great! Can I touch it?". The second most common is "I could *never* do that, my hair is too greasy. I have to wash it every day!" When I was in college in the sorority (yup, I was a sorority girl. Ask me nicely and I'll tell you which house), I was the same way! I showered and washed my hair EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It got too greasy to not wash daily, and this was before I discovered dry shampoo. It wasn't until after college that I discovered ...

Great Housewarming or Hosting Gift – DIY – How to Make Garbage Disposal Refreshers

By Saturday, December 7, 2013 2 Permalink 0

I can't tell you how many times I've come home from a long weekend trip, only to open the door and smell something rotten coming from my kitchen. I make it a point to clean my kitchen before leaving on long trips now, but sometimes there is just one thing I forget to do: run the garbage disposal. That smell really is the worst. My mom has recently gotten hooked on Pinterest and started getting crafty. Instead of just following the directions on the pins, she will make it her own and make it better and easier (something I clearly learned from her). Her most recent discovery ...

Easy Way to Remove Halloween Makeup From Your Face with One Organic Item

By Friday, November 1, 2013 0 Permalink 0

Halloween is Jonathon's favorite holiday and since this was the first Halloween that we were spending together, I knew we needed to come up with some great costumes. After much debate we decided to go with Dia de los Muertos. He was skeptical of my ability to paint his face (and let's be honest, so was I), but I have to admit, I think I surprised us both! We celebrated Halloween with friends last Saturday, and both of us had trouble removing the makeup using soap, water, cotton balls, q-tips, face wipes etc. You name it, we were using it. (more…)

Paleo Spaghetti Squash Carbonara Recipe

By Friday, October 18, 2013 3 Permalink 0

Winter is almost here, so I'm attempting to expand my cooking knowledge to include more seasonal items, so it was only a matter of time before I tried cooking with squash. I've stopped searching Google for recipes and I have yet to find a Paleo food blog that I *love*, so I turn to Pinterest to look for dishes that I think will be appetizing. When searching for ways to prepare spaghetti squash I kept coming across this pin: Unfortunately this is one of those ghost pins that leads you no where. After some searching I was able to figure out the ingredients of normal squash carbonara ...

Paleo Dessert – Cherry, Coconut, Banana Smoothie

By Wednesday, October 16, 2013 0 Permalink 0

When searching for Paleo recipes on Pinterest, it is becoming increasingly hard to avoid all of the dessert recipes. I'm not one that normally (or ever) craves sweets, but occasionally I miss eating ice cream. This pin in particular caught my eye a few weeks ago: That recipe is easy, with very few ingredients and tastes delicious! When I had a cold last week soup just wasn't cutting it for me, so I whipped up (literally) one of these for lunch. I've never been one that enjoyed (or thought I liked) coconut, so I was a little wary of using so much coconut milk in this recipe, ...

Liquid Dinner Recipe Paleo Style

My cravings for vegetables continues, so in order for me to consume as many veggies as I want without sitting and eating for hours we have taken the juicer out of the cabinet. The last two nights I have consumed almost my entire meal in liquid form, and boy was it good! Last night I also had some small grass-fed lettuce tacos and tonight I had half of a sausage, so my meals haven't been entirely liquid. I love how colorful the fruit and veggies are! (more…)

Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps – Paleo Recipe

By Friday, August 16, 2013 0 Permalink 0

One food I love and crave at least once a month are wings. In high school I would go to Jim's Wings in Fort Collins every week for their .25 cent wings. Those were the days. Everyone I knew would be there, stuffing their faces and getting hot sauce and ranch all over their hands and cheeks. Most chicken wings at restaurants aren't really Paleo since they come breaded and instead of baking chicken wings, I decided to dig out the crockpot and make some shredded buffalo chicken. A quick Google/Pinterest search didn't find any Paleo recipes to I made one up. It turned out to be ...
