Do not worry, I am not moving far away, or even out of Boulder. Instead I am moving closer to Pearl and will have a new roommate! For the past year I have been looking for a new place to live/trying to find a roommate but nothing ever panned out so I always re-signed a 6 month lease at my place in the Steelyards.

Why do I want to leave the Steelyards you ask? My apartment was just a bit too expensive for me, too far from Pearl, the walls were a little thin and the layout made it awkward to have friends over (there is not even space for a dinning table!).

I had just about given up on the prospect of finding a suitable apartment in Boulder and was going to re-sign yet another 6 month lease when Joni saw Fiona’s tweet:

I immediately DM’d her and she sent off an email to me and Deanna (the current leaser). I talked to Deanna at BOCC on Tuesday morning, looked at the apartment, filled out the application and as of 10 minutes ago I have signed the lease with my new roommate, Patty!!

Now that the stress of finding a place is gone, all I have to do is pack, clean, move and be out of my place by the end of the month (but I am not freaking out…yet).

I will miss waking up to this view everyday
but I am excited at the prospect of having people over to my place and the money I will be saving will allow me to travel more often.

Thanks to everyone who helped me find this great new apartment, and to everyone that I will hopefully con into helping me make the big move next weekend.

2011 is turning out to be a fantastic year so far!
