Most Popular Superbowl Ads 2014 – By Hashtag Mentioned on Twitter #sb48

By Sunday, February 2, 2014 0 Permalink 0

During the Superbowl this year I had trouble deciding which hashtag to use: #Superbowl of #SB48 and when talking about the commercials do I use #brandbowl or #adbowl and if I use those, do I still add #Superbowl? So many decisions! Luckily the brands that paid for commercials made it easy for me since 40% didn't even include a hashtag with their ads! Although, looking at how many people used the hashtags from the ads that INCLUDED them during the Superbowl, I can see why these companies wouldn't bother to include hashtags. To find out how many people used the hashtags, I used Topsy and analyzed ...

Superbowl Hashtags – What to use for #SB48

By Friday, January 31, 2014 0 Permalink 0

Last year I really enjoyed watching all of the Superbowl commercials and how they interacted with social media, specifically Twitter and their use of hashtags. If the Broncos weren't in the Superbowl, I'd be looking forward to just watching the commercials again, but this time I'll also be cheering on the home team! With the game fast approaching, the big question becomes, not who you are rooting for, but what hashtag will you be using? So far I've seen the following in use when people have been tweeting about game: #Superbowl #SB48 #SuperbowlSunday #Broncos #Seahawks #sbxivii #Superbowlxivii (more…)

Oreos and How They Lost the Grammy’s

By Monday, January 27, 2014 0 Permalink 0

Despite my hatred of The Grammy's, I still set aside time to watch it once a year. While I knew that Twitter was going to ruin the winners for me, I was still actively tweeting and watching what others were saying. This tweet stood out to me: I suppose I likely got my hopes up thinking that Oreo would have another Superbowl hit, but you never know! Unfortunately I had an hour to wait (this tweet was referring to the Grammy's on the East Coast, and we all know that the Grammy's are tape delayed for the rest of us). (more…)

Well, Hometown for the Holidays #HTFTH, has come to a close. I'm sure you are all excited that my constant #HTFTH tweets have ended, but wow! What a contest! In case you missed it, the top 3 bands as voted by Music Nerds all over the US were: The Photo Atlas Pandas & People Claymore Disco Those three put on a great show at Casselman's on Saturday night. If you've never attended a #HTFTH event, I highly recommend it. This event is pretty much the 'company' holiday party for local musicians. DIY Colored Bobby Pins – Perfect for Holiday Up-Do’s!

By Thursday, December 12, 2013 0 Permalink 0

Have you tried to look for blonde bobby pins recently? The last few times I went to Target in search for the mini bobby pins, all I could find were the brunette version. I'm sure I'm not the only blonde who wears bobby pins, so where are they? I figured there had to be a better solution, so when I was shopping in Target last, the fingernail polish caught my eye and the crafty side of my brain lit up with ideas. I quickly grabbed 4 colors and a top coat, a bunch of bobby pins and hurried home to start crafting. (more…)

DIY – Ugly Sweater Skirt for an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party

By Monday, December 9, 2013 0 Permalink 0

This weekend we were invited to an Ugly Sweater Christmas party. It's been years since I attended one, and neither Jon or I had anything to wear. I went to Target, Kmart and Walmart hoping to stumble upon a great sweater to wear, but had no such luck. Of course I found some online, but it was too late to order. Finally I saw a great idea online: a sweater skirt! While I may be crafty, I am certainly not one that can use a sewing machine, which made this particular DIY skirt that much better. A Tree Skirt! Worn as an actual skirt! Brilliant! So my ...

Great Housewarming or Hosting Gift – DIY – How to Make Garbage Disposal Refreshers

By Saturday, December 7, 2013 2 Permalink 0

I can't tell you how many times I've come home from a long weekend trip, only to open the door and smell something rotten coming from my kitchen. I make it a point to clean my kitchen before leaving on long trips now, but sometimes there is just one thing I forget to do: run the garbage disposal. That smell really is the worst. My mom has recently gotten hooked on Pinterest and started getting crafty. Instead of just following the directions on the pins, she will make it her own and make it better and easier (something I clearly learned from her). Her most recent discovery ...
