Updated Website, Business Cards and SXSW 2013

As I am sure you’ve noticed, I have *finally* updated my blog!

It took a few solid weekends of figuring out some CSS and playing with the custom HTML of my theme, but I am pretty proud of what I have accomplished. Thank god for Google and Chrome. When I couldn’t figure out the proper CSS to be altering or what to change it to, all I had to do was a quick Google search! Then the ‘inspect element’ portion of Chrome saved my sanity by allowing me to alter the CSS and see the change in real time. I love technology.

So what did I do? Updated the background, added social sharing links, verified my Pinterest account and tried to establish an overall brand for myself. Along with updating the blog, I finally changed MonikaRunstrom.com as it was 4+ years old (lesson learned: don’t let boyfriends update your site when you have *no* idea how to fix it).

I’ve been saying for years that I need personal business cards, and thanks to a bit of prodding from my husband, I finally ordered some! I can’t wait to get them so I will have something to give out during SXSW this year. What do you think?

I have a few different backgrounds that are a little more generic and can be used anywhere, but I’ve always loved the idea of having business cards that are catered for a specific event. How many times have you forgotten where you met someone?

As for the photo on the card, that was an inspiration from my DrillSpot.com days. We added pics of ourselves to the cards and they were a huge hit! What is worse than trying to remember where you met someone than trying to remember what they looked like?

Wow, I looked a bit different back then!

Hopefully my new cards will be a hit at SXSW this year!
