New Music Tuesday – Dead Sara – Pleasure To Meet You

Dead Sara is a band I’m currently obsessed with and SO excited that I was able to see them perform twice at SXSW 2015 – with my parents! They’re coming to Denver on April 10, 2015 to the Marquis Theatre and Wiredogs are opening. I bought tickets the day they came out, so I’m even more excited that my brother’s band will be opening, too! Take a listen to their new album, Pleasure to Meet You, as I haven’t stopped playing it all week. #obsessed

New Music Tuesday – Walk The Moon – Talking is Hard

Already this week I've given you 11 great new tracks from local, Denver artists that made it into Hometown for the Holiday, but I couldn't resist sharing this album with you all as well. Walk The Moon's Talking is Hard came out over a week ago, but I can not stop listening to it. This was the perfect album to get me through the short flight to Salt Lake City last week, and I'm sure it will make its way into my playlist when I fly to New York later this week. So far my favorite song is track number 4, Up 2 U. I love ...

New Music Tuesday – Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

By Monday, October 6, 2014 0 Permalink 0

Andrew McMahon is one of my favorite singer/performer/artist and has been since High School. I've been lucky to meet him on many occassions, and see him perform countless times. He's coming back to Colorado at the end of October with his newest iteration, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. Slowly he is releasing new songs from the album that will be released on October 14th, and I discovered he put them on all SoundCloud the other night when I was searching for songs to listen to on my drive home from Denver. Yesterday he also put out a preview of his whole new album on Billboard and ...

New Music Tuesday – The Griswolds – Be Impressive

By Wednesday, August 27, 2014 0 Permalink 0

The Griswolds were definitely one of the best bands I saw at UMS this year that I had never heard of before. They are from Australia, have catchy, indie songs and put on one helluva show. And, in case you were wondering, they are named for Chevy Chase's family from the Vacation movies. While I could spend more time telling you why you should listen, I'm just going to let the music stand for itself. Listen here: The Griswolds - Be Impressive So, what do you think? Who wants to see them with me next time the come to town?

New Music Tuesday – Rise Against – The Black Market – And the Colorado Connection

By Wednesday, July 16, 2014 0 Permalink 0

While Rise Against isn't a Colorado band, they do have many ties to this great state. Did you know that many of their last albums were recorded right here in Fort Collins, Colorado in the Blasting Room? Well, they were. A few years ago I had the pleasure of going to a 'secret' show of theirs where they played in local clothing store, Kansas City Kitty. The store moved all of their merchandise to the sides, or put away in the back and a line started outside the store before they even closed at 5. I remember it was a pretty cold night, so my parents ...

Well, Hometown for the Holidays #HTFTH, has come to a close. I'm sure you are all excited that my constant #HTFTH tweets have ended, but wow! What a contest! In case you missed it, the top 3 bands as voted by Music Nerds all over the US were: The Photo Atlas Pandas & People Claymore Disco Those three put on a great show at Casselman's on Saturday night. If you've never attended a #HTFTH event, I highly recommend it. This event is pretty much the 'company' holiday party for local musicians. I can't even begin to count the number of bands that were in attendance. On to the music. Today ...
