Tonight Jon and I cooked a great Paleo meal to celebrate his return from PaleoFX. * We were inspired by the cooking class we went to last week at Natural Grocers: "Paleo Cooking with Caveman Cafeteria: Where the Hunters Gather". Jon has been a friend and supporter of Will from Caveman Cafeteria for awhile now, and if you haven't been to his food truck, I *highly* recommend trying it. The deep fried brussels sprouts are amazing! Anyway, back to the cooking demonstration. I wasn't sure what to expect, if it was going to be more informational, educational or an actual demonstration. When we got to Natural Grocers I was ...

New Music Tuesday – Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark
This week I am featuring a song that I am currently *obsessed* with this Fall Out Boy song at the moment: Plus the videos for My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark and The Phoenix make me excited to see what the rest of the album holds: I have been a fan of Fall Out Boy for years and I am really excited that they decided to get back together and make this new album. So far I am digging the direction they are taking the band and hope this is just the first of many new albums from the band. (Yes, I know that this song ...
How To Embed A Pinterest Board On Your Blog
Recently, I've stopped creating Google Docs of links to blog posts around certain topics and started to use Pinterest to keep all of the information in one spot. You can see my most recent post on How to Ditch the Shampoo and the Pinterest board there. Rather than link to the board, I figured it would be better to visually feature it. I was going to take a screenshot, until I remembered that Pinterest now allows for people to not only embed Pin It buttons, but also Pinterest profiles, individual pins and Pinterest boards! (more…)
How To Ditch The Shampoo and Go No ‘Poo!
I'll still never forget the time when Jon and I were going to stay in his apartment before going on a trip and we had the following conversation: Me: "Do you have conditioner in your apartment, or do I need to pack my own?" Jon: "I know we just got married, and I promise I am not a crazy hippie type, but I don't wash my hair." Me: "Ok, so bring shampoo and conditioner is what you are saying to me." So I brought my own and didn't think about it again. Until a few weeks later when I stumbled upon a blog post talking about going 'No 'Poo'. I then ...
The UMS Releases First Lineup for 2013
As you all know, our favorite local music event of the year in Denver has always been the UMS, or Underground Music Showcase as all of you non-goers probably call it. Every year the bands that perform this event are promising, it's some of the most highly-anticipated 4 days of our entire summer. Monika and I have had years of fun at this event listening to music, going to as many shows as possible without trying to ruin our carefully scheduled plan, drinking with the bands, taking pictures in photo booths, and supporting our scene(as usual). We may have been busy for awhile but we're getting back ...
The Hate and Peelander-Z – What to do in Denver on March 22, 2013
Looking for something to do tonight? Looks like you're in luck! There are a plethora of options. My pick? The Hate at the Marquis Theatre opening for Peelander-Z. The Hate is a great band and are nominated for Best Punk Band of Denver in the 2013 Westword Music Showcase Ballot. And? My brother, Stefan, is playing drums for them tonight, even more incentive for you to join me for this show! The Hate: And Peelander-Z? Japanese Punk band that kind of resembles Power Rangers. I saw them at SXSW a few years ago, and it was definitely an entertaining show and I have to admit their songs, ...
Denver Auto Show and Ford
So I am sure most of you don't know this, but I used to be able to tell the year of an old Mustang car just by looking at the tail lights. Why? In high school I hung out with the guys and they all owned late '60's Mustangs and were very passionate about them. Did you know the first year Mustang is actually a 1964 1/2? #RandomMustangKnowledge Have you ever driven one? Oh wow, what I wouldn't give to take a '60's 'Stang out for a road trip. So much power in that car. (more…)
New Music Tuesday – Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Et Tu, Brute?
I've been a fan of Red Jumpsuit for quite some time now, but the band actually has even more special ties to this blog. Without them, Kaila and I might not have started Indiebitches.com because this was the very first concert we ever attended! So take a listen to their new album, Et Tu, Brute for us:
