Top 5% on LinkedIn and LinkedIn Visualization Maps

By Friday, February 8, 2013 0 Permalink 0

Until this last year I haven't been that big of a fan of LinkedIn. Of course I had an account (but let's be honest, there aren't many social networks that I don't have an account for) but I had not really invested any time into my profile, or connections until the last year. Apparently my hard work has paid off! I just got an email saying I have one of the top 5% most viewed LinkedIn profiles for 2012. That definitely surprised me, and I am sure it is likely just due to the fact that I spent last year connecting with people from the past. (more…)

Don’t Be Lazy – And Why It Matters On Pinterst

By Tuesday, February 5, 2013 0 Permalink 0

After I got married, I adopted the Paleo diet (I mean if my husband is going to cook, of course I am going to eat it!). After a few weeks I figured I should start contributing and finally start utilizing Pinterest, so I went on the search for yummy Paleo meals to pin to his board. It didn't take me long to realize a few things. 1) I am a lazy pinner. I hate that I am forced to add content to the piece before I can pin it. 2) Others are just as lazy as me when it comes to blog posts, especially images (trust me, I ...

Superbowl Hashtags 2013 #sb47 #Superbowl #brandbowl #adbowl

Originally when I pictured this post I was going to write down the bands featured in each ad I saw during the Superbowl. I was expecting ads featuring bands like Walk the Moon, Grouplove and Sleeper Agent. I was surprised though! Most ads featured older or re-mixed music. During the first official commercial break I started to also capture the hashtags used by brands. Below are all of the brands and the hashtags they used during the Superbowl. (more…)

Is Twitter Inflating Celebrity Follower Numbers?

By Tuesday, January 15, 2013 0 Permalink 0

Just three short days ago I tweeted a story about how Pinterest was inflating their follower numbers by forcing new users to select categories of pins and boards to follow automatically. When you sign up for a new Pinterest account, they force you to select categories (there is no skip option) and sign you up to follow 50+ boards immediately (on average). The article I read compared the Pinterest new user flow to the Twitter user flow, and they were quite different. Not anymore! (more…)

Another Reason Rdio Rocks

By Tuesday, October 2, 2012 0 Permalink 0

I love Rdio. This last weekend I drove to Montrose with my friend Joni and I have to say, our 90's playlist literally entertained us for hours (10+)! Having the ability to easily find those songs you love (or loved) with just a few searches is priceless, really. That being said, I also struggle with Rdio because I know what a drain it is for local artists. It takes time and effort to get your songs on there. Then you have to convince your fans to go to Rdio.com to listen to your songs. And then you get paid. Cents. Like nothing. Have you ever looked at the ...

Social Queen

No, I am not talking about myself here. Aimee shared this video with me early, and I cannot get over how creative it is, and how I relate to it (with the social networks at least). I haven't really paid attention to the movie/trailer for Mirror Mirror at all, but this video definite piques my interest! Plus, this video showcases my exact frustrations with Skype! (Stupid Snow White, I mean spammers). Does this make you want to see Mirror Mirror?

Grammys – Stop Treating Us Like We Do Not Matter!

By Sunday, February 12, 2012 1 Permalink 0

I am fortunate to live in such a great state. I am even more fortunate to be visiting my Grama in Arizona this weekend! However, the Grammys have decided to treat us all, in the Mountain Time Zone (edit: and Pacific Time Zone), as people who do not matter. Why? Because we are the ONLY time zone(s) that does not get to see the Grammys performed live! Why does this matter? In case you didn't realize, it is 2012. If you are 27 minutes late with the news, you are old school. Add another 33 minutes on to that? Chopped liver. So, why do the Grammys insist ...

By Friday, January 27, 2012 0 Permalink 0

There are only a few days left to go vote for the video Hot Wild Girls in the Dorito's Crash the Superbowl campaign! This video was created by Denver's own Brad Scott (who has done work with Tickle Me Pink, which is how I met him). Brandon from My Body Sings Electric (and Dirty Rotten Rhymers) even wrote a catchy song to go get you to vote: Confused because you haven't seen the video yet? NOW GO VOTE! Let's show the world what great talent we have here in Denver!
