With over 250 bands, djs and artists and only 2 days, planning out my schedule for the 3rd annual FoCoMX was a bit difficult! This year FoCoMX teamed up with Sched.org to create the website and schedule. They make it really easy to plan your weekend! All you have to do is create a login and select the bands you want to see. You can even link Sched.org to your Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare accounts to track where your friends are going to be. You can see my schedule here: http://focomx2011.sched.org/SativaBella or below is a screen shot of my tentative plan, but please suggest any bands you think I ...

The Story Behind ‘SativaBella’
Recently I have been asked by more and more people how I came up with the Twitter name 'SativaBella' so I figured I would share the story with everyone. It is no secret that I LOVE puppies (any dog I meet is a puppy, so this includes dogs of all ages). In October, 2007 I fell in love with this puppy, who was in the window of a pet store (yes I know, I should have adopted/gone to humane society etc, but I didn't - you can give me grief about that later): I just could not resist this little wiry furball. She was a Shiba Inu mixed with ...
Foo-ed Up Documentary
So after all of my raving about how amazing the Foo Fighters documentary was, my parents got tickets to one of 2 theaters in Colorado that were showing the movie. They were so excited! I couldn't wait to hear what they thought of the movie and the 3D live concert. After the movie, I texted my mom to ask how it was. She said it was torture, the sound was really messed up and the 3D did not work. I assumed she was just talking about the 3D live concert, so I called her to see how the documentary was. Turns out the whole movie was messed up. ...
Foo Fighters Tuesday
Since the release of the Foo Fighters documentary Back and Forth is today (although limited) I figured I would finally post all of my pictures and video from their secret show in Austin during SXSW last month. My brother, Stefan, and I were lucky enough to get to see the early preview of the documentary. It was the same day as my iPhone debacle. While I was running around town, Stefan waited patiently in line for the Foo Fighters documentary. As I was running back to the hotel to shower, he called and said I had to get down to the theatre ASAP because they were giving ...
My first Kickstarter – Record Monsters
Not sure what took me so long to back projects on Kickstarter. I have been aware of them for quite some time, and I send a lot of projects to my dad who has backed many of them, but I am proud to say I have finally backed my first of many Kickstarter projects -Record Monsters. Andrew Hyde gave me a sneak peek at these records at SXSW and I immediately loved the idea! My dad is an entomologist and I remember putting together wooden mosquito puzzles when I was younger, so I was nostalgic when I saw the Record Monster. I cannot wait to get my record ...
Google adds their own ‘like’ button to searches Google +1
Google just added their own version of a 'like' to search results: Google +1. It is currently accessible via an opt-in experiment. After the experiment is turned on, you have a '+1' button next to search results. When you click +1 you get this pop up: Here is how it appears on my search after I have '+1'd' the result. Not sure how it will appear to you or my friends (or whatever term Google calls friends, followers, fans etc): At first I was a bit skeptical about the social sharing that Google implemented a few months ago, but I really like seeing what people have shared on Twitter ...
The Graduate – Pull Me In
I am discovering more and more that when I hear a band or song I like, I tend to play it on repeat for hours, days, months etc. So sorry if you see me post about my newest musical obsessions a lot, but when I say I am obsessed that means I have at least played it on repeat for an hour or more. My latest musical obsession is a repeat: The Graduate. But the obsession is not over the song (which do not get me wrong, the song is awesome, and a little Arcade Fire-esque at the end), but the video for Pull Me In ...
Unwritten Law – Starships and Apocalypse

Unwritten Law was one of my favorite bands growing up, so when I got an email saying they would be playing at Summit Music Hall on April 20th (tickets still available - open invitation to join me!) I had to do research to see what they have been up to over the past few years. Turns out they have a new CD coming out March 29th (tomorrow!!) and they just released a video for their new single Starships and Apocalypse. Also watch the behind the scenes video: "Take my hand, off we go to lala land"
How Chevrolet and their employees saved my SXSW 2011
On Tuesday, March 15th during SXSW, I woke up early (we will say it was around 10 am, which is early by SXSW standards) and checked my phone. The battery was at 9% despite having been plugged in all night long! I assumed the outlet I had been using just wasn't working, so I rolled over and used my brother's iPhone charger since his phone was at 100%. After plugging it in, it vibrated and showed the charging icon, so I rolled back over and continued to sleep. 30 minutes later when I woke up, my phone was still only at 8%! It was at this ...
Foo Fighters Documentary – Back and Forth Trailer
The Foo Fighters are doing limited screenings next week across the US and I highly recommend going and seeing “Back and Forth” ASAP.
