I saw a tweet linking to https://foursquare.com/timemachine and my first thought was "Did they buy Timehop?" Of course I clicked, and while they didn't buy Timehop, this site is pretty cool! It plays a video of your check-ins throughout your time on Foursquare. I didn't watch the entire thing because after about a minute I was still looking at check-ins from 2010, and knew there were MANY more to come. The animation is a lot of fun and I especially like the neon colors with the black background. I wish there was a way to turn off the music, but that's my only complaint. (more…)

Tweet That You Were Mentioned In Was Favorited
I've been waiting to see that subject line from Twitter for quite some time and it finally arrived! I've been disappointed with Twitter analytics for my personal account and often rely on third party sites for data and analytics regarding popular tweets, followers, unfollowers, you name it, I've looked for information on it. Tonight when I opened my gmail to find this email, I literally squee'd out of excitement. Think of the possibilities! Are you running a conference? Maybe a speaker tweets about their attendance, tags your account and receives a bunch of Retweets or Favorites. Now you will be notified without have to rely on third parties or ...
EP: Air Dubai’s “Warning”
Every so often we're incredibly lucky to be given a chance to listen to some of the first pieces of new upcoming music in our Denver scene. One of the best examples being some of Monika and I's favorites, Air Dubai. From having their music played on MTV's Jersey Shore and getting signed with Hopeless Records, to making a name for themselves in Denver and other states alike, Air Dubai has an incredibly bright future ahead of them - their new EP only reassures me of that blatant fact. The summer vibes that they create make everyone want to dance, make us forget that we have any ...
FoCoMX 2013 – 5th Year!
This weekend marks the 5th annual Fort Collins Music Experiment. I've had the pleasure of attending them all and can't wait to get back up to Fort Collins this weekend! I've put my tentative schedule below. You'll notice that Friday is a bit sparse, this isn't because there aren't some great bands playing, but this is because I most likely won't be there. #sadface I will be at a wedding, so I've quickly compiled a list of bands that you shouldn't miss: (more…)
Twitter Hashtag Search – No Hashtag Necessary!
The other night I was flipping through channels on TV and stumbled on the MTV Movie Awards. I'm not a big movie person, and even less of an award show watcher (we all know how I feel about the Grammys), and yet I stopped to watch a few minutes. After I tweeted about my thoughts on how it was going: I decided to see what others thought of the event. I clicked on the trending topic and the first thing I noticed? Twitter was aggregating tweets that were talking about the event, but weren't using the hashtag. Three of the seven tweets below do not contain the hashtag ...
Happy Foursquare Day!
I've been a fan and user of Foursquare since they started at SXSW many years ago (ok, 4 years ago). They've deemed today to be 4sqDay day (4/16...get it?). This year they've introduced a fun little visualization of your past years checkins. Just go to https://foursquare.com/visualizeme and log in to see what you've been up to since the last Foursquare day. (more…)
Stefan’s Winning Drum Solo
Tonight I was showing Jon some old YouTube videos and realized that he has never seen the video of Stefan winning the talent show that lead to him joining the band, Tickle Me Pink. He was in High School and played an almost 4 minute drum solo. The crowd *loved* it! He won the whole talent show, beating Sean Kennedy (lead singer of Tickle Me Pink). This talent show is what lead to the formation of Tickle Me Pink. Don't you love it? I know I do. Kind of fitting as Sean is getting married this week to his lovely bride, Sara. Now, here's a newer video of ...
Aloe Vera Paleo Smoothie
Growing up my parents had an aloe vera plant. I remember we would cut off a piece if we ever got burned and use the gel inside the leaves to help soothe the burn. Not only is the gel great for use on burns, but there are other benefits to aloe vera that one gets from eating the gel inside the plant. A quick Google search pulls up benefits such as halting cancer (they don't show any research that proves this, however), soothes inflammation, and can help heal stomach ulcers. Jon and I heard about the benefits of eating the gel from the documentary, Hungry for Change, ...
New Music Tuesday – Paramore – 4 Sides / 4 Nights
Many bands these days strike exclusives with websites to stream their songs before their album is released and this week Paramore released videos of their vinyl of their new album on YouTube. I love their introductions, mainly because they are a little awkward, but it makes them more real in my opinion. I mean have you ever met a band? Chances are they were a little weird and awkward. Take a listen to the album below in parts A, B and C: Side A: Songs: 01:20 Fast in my car 05:06 Now 09:18 Grow up 13:09 Daydreaming Side B: Songs: 01:27 Moving On 02:55 Ain't It Fun 07:51 Part II 12:33 Last Hope Side C: Songs: 01:52 ...
Throwback Thursday – The Fratelli’s Chelsea Dagger and the Chicago Blackhawks
I love how a song can instantly take you back to a specific time and place. I experienced that today when The Fratelli's song Chelsea Dagger came on my Pandora station. Remember this song? If you are a Chicago Blackhawks fan, you know this song well. It is played after a home team goal and home team win. (more…)
