Stitch Fix Box Number Six

By Monday, February 10, 2014 0 Permalink 0

I opened my six Stitch Fix box and was SO excited! The first item I pulled out was so perfect for me. If you follow my ‘style‘ board on Pinterest you know that I’ve been obsessed with interesting sweaters and have been loving side zippered items.

So here is what I got:

Sweet Rain Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Jacket
Under Skies Geena Chevron Print Belted Tunic
Under Skies Manteca Colorblock Short-Sleeve Blouse
RD Style Talent Colorblock Stripe Hi-Lo Sweater
41 Hawthorn Sedona Dot Print Shirtdress

What I am returning:

41 Hawthorn Sedona Dot Print Shirtdress
This shirtdress…was just so wrong. The material is thick which makes it lay awkwardly when wearing. The actual dress was just huge. This was in NO way a medium. I put it on and Jon looked at me and asked if I was going to take up painting as it looked like I was wearing a smock.

Just take a look at the sleeves. Pretty sure both arms could fit in one with room to spare:

The back gathers in a weird way when tied in the front as well:

To give you an idea of just how big this is unbelted, it almost looks like a muumuu:

When I initially took this out of the box, I thought it had potential as the colors looked great and the material had potential, but it looked a bit big an boxy. Not only that, but when I tried it on the next day I realized that this material wrinkled really easily.

I understand that not every top needs to be tight or fitted, but this was a bit extreme.

Under Skies Geena Chevron Print Belted Tunic
Orange is not normally a color I gravitate towards for clothing, but I kind of liked this shirt. Then I put it on and was a little disappointed.

At first I thought it would be perfect to wear with leggings and boots, but the gathering of the material around my chest was just awkward.

And again, it was just a bit on the baggy side.

My Faves, aka what I am keeping:

Sweet Rain Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Jacket
This has been by far the most on point item I’ve received from Stitch Fix yet. Everything about this jacket is perfect! The color, the fit, the asymmetrical zipper, everything! The material is soft and warm and just hangs perfectly.

This is perfect for vacations, lounging around the house, or a night out. I just love it!

Cannot make up my mind:

RD Style Talent Colorblock Stripe Hi-Lo Sweater
Again, this is another top that I could see wearing with leggings and boots on a nice winter day. The colors are fun and I like that the back is longer than the front.

But again, it is a little baggy when you look at it from the side. From the front it looks like it fits well, but just hangs a bit from the side view.

I’ve definitely enjoyed every Stitch Fix box I’ve received so far, and always found something to keep, but the Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Jacket is by far my favorite so far. What do you think of what I received this time? Should I keep the Hi-Lo Sweater? Do you love the Asymmetrical Jacket as much as I do?
