It’s that time of year…

By Monday, April 9, 2012 0 Permalink 0

No, not Spring, or even Baseball season, it's time for me to become a blonde once again. It's been a good 6 months since I did this: It's time to go back to this! Now, the problem is, what shade of blonde do I go? I've started a pinboard of ideas, but want your opinion! How blonde do I go?

Upcoming CD Release: Carbon Choir

I first fell in love with Carbon Choir months ago, their crystal-clear sound, soothing guitar chords and warm tones were something that really stuck to me. This band has the kind of effect where you can blast their music on your stereo while driving in your car to absolutely nowhere, just taking in the sun and thinking about life. Joel Van Horne's (lead singer) voice still gives me goosebumps every time I hit "play" on my iPod and that being said, Carbon Choir's interlocking sound of indie and alternative rock have boldly sufficed my music taste buds. Luckily, we here at Indie Bitches were given the pleasure ...

fun. with Sleeper Agent

By Tuesday, April 3, 2012 0 Permalink 0

fun. has been everywhere the past few weeks. It is no surprise that their three CO shows have sold out this week. Luckily I have snagged to tickets to both their Fort Collins show (Aggie) and their Denver show (Ogden). I can't wait to see them, but I am also really excited to see Sleeper Agent again! I was so impressed with them last year, I am sure they have only gotten better. If their performance of Get Burned on Jimmy Fallon is any indication, I will not be disappointed this week: And just for fun, here is fun.'s video of We Were Young: (Yes, this video does creep ...

Social Queen

No, I am not talking about myself here. Aimee shared this video with me early, and I cannot get over how creative it is, and how I relate to it (with the social networks at least). I haven't really paid attention to the movie/trailer for Mirror Mirror at all, but this video definite piques my interest! Plus, this video showcases my exact frustrations with Skype! (Stupid Snow White, I mean spammers). Does this make you want to see Mirror Mirror?

Friday Night Concert – Crocodiles and Bleeding Rainbow at Larimer Lounge

By Friday, March 2, 2012 0 Permalink 0

Have I been living under a rock? Likely. Either way, I was just introduced to this awesome band, Crocodiles, who apparently was a hit at last year's CMJ Music Marathon in NYC. They are playing tonight with Bleeding Rainbow (who if you Google "bleeding rainbow band" the first result? readingrainbow.bandcamp.com - AWESOME!) at the Larimer Lounge. Not going to Snowball this weekend? Don't worry, there is plenty happening right here in Denver! Come hang out with The Foot., Eldren, Take to the Oars and The Big Motif at The Bluebird on Saturday! The Foot. is celebrating their Double EP release which you can listen to now (and trust me, you will want to): I love that it starts out with a modem and ends with the "Goodbye" from AOL. Very classy, gents. Aren't you glad you listened to me? #youarewelcome UPDATE: The Foot. has just released a video for their song Ignorance. I absolutely love it! (Plus, who doesn't love looking at Jeff for 2 minutes?)

I Need Some New Best Friends

By Friday, February 24, 2012 0 Permalink 0

Even though I attend hundreds of concerts a year (not exaggerating), it is very rare that I go alone. I can almost always find someone else to go with, or know of other people already going. That being said, there are 2 concerts I am going to on Friday that no one will go to with me! You read that right. I am going to 2 concerts on Friday. The first show of the night is Every Avenue. They are a band that I discovered through Rdio.com actually. I was listening to some band radio station and their song came on. I was instantly hooked, and have ...

My time spent in Gmail has doubled

By Tuesday, February 21, 2012 1 Permalink 0

And not for a good reason! Who knew that such a 'small' change would alter the amount of time I spend waiting for Gmail to load. Can you see the difference between these 2 screen shots below? It is a very slight change...   Did you figure it out? Yeah, it took me a minute too. They changed the Gmail icon in the top left corner into a Google logo. "So what," you say? Well, that also changes where you are linked to. For the past few years (hard to tell how long it has existed there) you could click on the Gmail and be taken to your inbox. Now? ...

Grammys – Stop Treating Us Like We Do Not Matter!

By Sunday, February 12, 2012 1 Permalink 0

I am fortunate to live in such a great state. I am even more fortunate to be visiting my Grama in Arizona this weekend! However, the Grammys have decided to treat us all, in the Mountain Time Zone (edit: and Pacific Time Zone), as people who do not matter. Why? Because we are the ONLY time zone(s) that does not get to see the Grammys performed live! Why does this matter? In case you didn't realize, it is 2012. If you are 27 minutes late with the news, you are old school. Add another 33 minutes on to that? Chopped liver. So, why do the Grammys insist ...

Mike Doughty – Question Jar Show

By Tuesday, January 31, 2012 0 Permalink 0

I have had the pleasure of seeing Mike Doughty two times now, once was a Question Jar Show. What exactly does that mean? Well Mike allows the audience to ask any question they want and put it in a jar that he has on stage. In between songs, he will select a few and answer them. It's kind of like a VH1 Behind the Music. It was one of the most entertaining shows I have been too. Just so intimate, and I love that you feel like you actually get to know Mike as a person, not just a musician. Bummed you missed his show? You ...
