That post in which I declare I will start working out

By Wednesday, June 13, 2012 0 Permalink 0

Except that it has now been 11 weeks of working out! Proof here: Instead of writing about this way back when I started Pilates, I waited. Mainly because I had people like LeVar and my mom who didn't think I would commit and continue. To be fair to them both, there is a lot that I start and don't finish. Blogs. Movies. Knitting Projects. Books. Working Out. The list is long, but I am proud to say that this blog isn't going by the wayside, and neither is Pilates! I am attributing my love of Pilates on a few factors:  The teachers there are amazing! Most of my lessons ...

The Hate Album Release Show on 6/15 ft. In The Whale and All Capitals.

After an incredibly hectic week of concerts last week (what else is new), this week is nothing short of the exact same agenda. As I'm sure many of you are already planning, and if you're not you should be, Monika and I will be at Warped Tour this Sunday - we're stoked. It's going to be a really great weekend-topper even more so however when The Hate hosts their album release show at The Hi-Dive with In The Whale and All Capitals. I've had a couple chances to listen to the new album thanks to our good friend Mark, bassist for The Hate, and I'm more ...

Rocket Summer – Take Two!

By Tuesday, June 12, 2012 0 Permalink 0

Remember that time that I was an idiot and locked my purse in my new car with my ID, credit cards and, of course, the spare car keys? Yeah, that was a fun December night. That was the same night that The Heyday had a show at Marquis Theatre opening for Rocket Summer. I somehow made it out of my car with the tickets to the show (thank god) and my camera (I had a photo pass). After a quick call to USAA, I had a locksmith on order, to show up in about an hour and a half. Since I had time to kill, and ...

Free Josh Lee.

By Thursday, June 7, 2012 0 Permalink 0

Our really good friend Josh Lee needs to be free. Thanks to Mr. Thompson, "FREE JOSH LEE" fundraising t-shirts are available! Let's show our support for Josh, his talent, and his hard work. We all have such a huge amount of love for Josh and here at Indie Bitches, we personally couldn't imagine this beautiful music scene without him. This means the world to us, Josh means the world to us. I couldn't imagine being friends with a nicer, more genuine person than Josh Lee and quite frankly, we're incredibly heartbroken that this even happened. 2 different designs to choose from, $16 each, cash only. Every penny ...

New Music Video: Talisker Skye “Away”

By Wednesday, June 6, 2012 0 Permalink 0

Talisker Skye has just released this new video for their song "Away" which starts off with a broadcast of the news on the day that Johnny Schou passed away 4 years ago. The reporter says his last name wrong, which pisses me off everytime, but the rest of the video shows Sean Kennedy and the band around a campfire, in a grave and even adds in video of Johnny from their Tickle Me Pink days. I think the song is great and can't wait to hear what else we will be seeing from Talisker Skye in the future. See Colorado Music Buzz's article about the band ...

Featured Band Discovery: Strange Americans

By Sunday, May 27, 2012 1 Permalink 0

Just a few hours ago I went down into the madness that was Denver Day of Rock to go see and visit with the guys in Air Dubai. Monika had a family day so I was all by my lonesome which doesn't happen too often at music events, this was actually the first time at a festival I went solo. Of course with the people who don't know how to walk quickly, children, and drunks it was a lively time in the sun (not complaining because I actually really enjoy festivals) but anyways, getting onto subject....as I was waiting for Air Dubai to finish setting up, ...

Fighting For Fessler: An Event Of Support

By Tuesday, May 8, 2012 0 Permalink 0

An extremely important event is happening this Thursday, May 10th at 7:00PM at The Marquis. Of course all of the local music events that we support are held very closely to our hearts but this Thursday, with the help of our friends in Della, Monroe Monroe, Mr. Right, and The Marquis Theater, we're able to support something that is literally going to be life changing. "Fighting For Fessler" is an event in support of a good friend of mine, Luke Mehrens', girlfriend Abby Fessler. I've had the pleasure of meeting this beautifully strong woman a few times, but last month Abby was unexpectedly diagnosed with  T-CELL Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL). ...

Passion Pit – Take A Walk

By Monday, May 7, 2012 0 Permalink 0

I needed a little pick me up on this rainy Monday morning, and luckily Passion Pit had just what I needed. They just released their new song "Take a Walk" on their site, and you can listen for free! I can't wait for their next album to come out, or their show at Red Rocks (it will be amazing). Take a listen for yourself: Hopefully that will help brighten your Monday like it did mine!
