New Music Tuesday – The Last Time by Gary Lightbody and Taylor Swift
Yes, I do like Taylor Swift. No, it isn't very 'indie' of me. But I like Gary Lightbody even more than I like Taylor Swift. So when I heard they did a duet on her new album, I had to find it, immediately. I think this song sounds more like Snowpatrol with backup vocals by Taylor, but I really like it! Take a listen for yourself. What do you think? I haven't bought Taylor's new album, but I am definitely thinking about it. Especially because I love this song.
Adele – Skyfall Video
I heard the snippet for this song earlier in the week and couldn't wait to hear the whole thing. This song is the definition of a James Bond theme song, but I love it. I didn't really watch the video as the lyrics aren't really that hard to figure out, but this song just might be on repeat for me today.
New Music Tuesday (OK, Fine, Wednesday) – Grouplove
Yeah, I *was* doing well last week, and then I missed Friday's post, and then I forgot to post yesterday. But to make up for it, I have a FREE concert to go along with New Music Tuesday Wednesday. Grouplove has been around since 2010 but have been gaining in popularity, especially after their song Tongue Tied was in an Apple iPod Touch commercial. Another day, another band breaks up. Jack's Mannequin is no longer a band, but I have faith that Andrew will continue to make more music. New Music Tuesday – The xx’s Angels
I am so excited for UMS, and so disappointed in Green Day and No Doubt, that I forgot to post my New Music Tuesday pick! I was hoping this week would be a throw back to the 90's punk scene, but after listening to Green Day and No Doubt's new songs a few times, I just couldn't post them on here as my pick. Instead, going to go with The xx's new song Angels. Pretty much the opposite of 90's punk, but enjoyable nonetheless. Plus, they are coming to the Boulder Theatre October 17th!
