fun. has been everywhere the past few weeks. It is no surprise that their three CO shows have sold out this week. Luckily I have snagged to tickets to both their Fort Collins show (Aggie) and their Denver show (Ogden). I can't wait to see them, but I am also really excited to see Sleeper Agent again! I was so impressed with them last year, I am sure they have only gotten better. If their performance of Get Burned on Jimmy Fallon is any indication, I will not be disappointed this week: And just for fun, here is fun.'s video of We Were Young: (Yes, this video does creep ...
Friday Night Concert – Crocodiles and Bleeding Rainbow at Larimer Lounge
Have I been living under a rock? Likely. Either way, I was just introduced to this awesome band, Crocodiles, who apparently was a hit at last year's CMJ Music Marathon in NYC. They are playing tonight with Bleeding Rainbow (who if you Google "bleeding rainbow band" the first result? readingrainbow.bandcamp.com - AWESOME!) at the Larimer Lounge. Cover The Sky 7" by Bleeding Rainbow
I Need Some New Best Friends
Even though I attend hundreds of concerts a year (not exaggerating), it is very rare that I go alone. I can almost always find someone else to go with, or know of other people already going. That being said, there are 2 concerts I am going to on Friday that no one will go to with me! You read that right. I am going to 2 concerts on Friday. The first show of the night is Every Avenue. They are a band that I discovered through Rdio.com actually. I was listening to some band radio station and their song came on. I was instantly hooked, and have ...
New Years Eve.
With 2012 being just around the corner, we're looking forward to a lot of new things. New events, new songs, new cds, new bands. The only thing is - what are we going to do for the New Year? Every year there are a ton of parties, this year has a ton of shows to offer that we don't wanna miss. However, at the end of the day, we do have to choose one (or two if we decide to disperse) events to enjoy and welcome the new year with. Although we can't make all of them, we really hope and highly recommend that you get ...
New Music Tuesday – Sleeper Agent’s Celebrasion
Out today is Sleeper Agent's first full length album Celebrasion. Last week I had the pleasure of seeing Sleeper Agent perform at Moe's Original BBQ in Englewood. While I was only vaguely aware of the band prior to the concert, I am still surprised that they played such a small venue! Guaranteed the next time they come through, it will be at a much bigger venue. Who is Sleeper Agent? They are a garage-rock/pop band from Kentucky who are so incredibly talented and very young! That does not mean that they are not versed in the industry, I mean they are friends with local Bowling Green band, ...
Wavves Concert at Moe’s BBQ!!
We just got word that the band Wavves is coming to Moe's BBQ on October 6th. This show is going to be huge, as this band has been growing like crazy in the last year with their songs being featured on MTV's show Awkward. This should be a fantastic show that you don't want to miss out on. Who is Wavves? Read their Bio (courtesy of Rdio): Named for his fear of the ocean, Wavves, the skuzzy project of San Diego slacker Nathan Williams, is a blend of distorted no-fi and refined sunshiny melodies. Charmingly messy, most of his lyrics, while difficult to decipher, generally revolve around the ...
The Big Releaski Featuring Petals of Spain and Eldren
Tonight is a big night at Moe's BBQ (South). They are hosting The Big Releaski party for both Petals of Spain and Eldren. Why is it called the Big Releaski? Well Eldren is releasing a new *Free* EP and Petals of Spain are debuting "Lady Luck." But, that doesn't explain why it is called "The Big Releaski!" That is because tonight is also a theme night, and what better place to have a Big Lebowski themed party than at a bowling alley! I really hope someone dresses up like this guy (*ahem* Nick Crawford): Before heading down to Moe's, be sure to go to Eldren's website and download their ...
Concert: August 16, 2011 – Take To The Oars
Bored? Want something to do tonight? Local band Take To The Oars is opening for Evaline at the Marquis Theatre. Never seen them before? Their energy on stage is infectious. Watching Mike head bang while rocking out on guitar is bound to get you moving, or at least bobbing your head a little. Plus, who doesn't like a song that features an accordion? Sticks and Stones is one of my favorites: They were also at the Underground Music Festival where Kaila and I met up with Mike and took this photo with Spiderman: If you go, be sure to let us know what you think of ...
Band: In The Whale
Despite being the 11th annual UMS, the 2011 Underground Music Showcase was my first. It was not quite as crazy and packed as South by Southwest, but I was definitely impressed with the number of music fans and bands that attended. Many of the bands I saw at UMS were ones that I had heard of and/or seen before, but one band that was neither of those things was In The Whale. This two-piece band put on an incredible show to some of the top musicians in Denver. In the crowd were members of My Body Sings Electric, The Photo Atlas, Epilogues and more. In The ...
