I haven't been to Baltimore since I was in 8th grade and on a school trip to Washington DC with about 150 other 8th and 9th graders. My memory of Baltimore from that trip were that there was a huge indoor mall, right off the harbor and close to the aquarium. Today I returned for the eTail East Conference and Baltimore is nothing like I remember! Paul and I arrived a day early, so we figured we would take the day to explore the city. The front desk at the Hilton Hotel recommended that we walk to Power Plant Live! which is just off the harbor. After a short ...

I saw the movie “The Kids Are All Right”
This weekend I was in Fort Collins visiting with my family (and meeting my brother's adorable new puppy, Drake) when my parents and I decided to go see the new movie The Kids Are All Right. I had no expectations to this movie whatsoever and barely remember seeing the trailer: The movie was a bit more shocking than the trailer would have you thinking. First of all there was just so much sex! The trailer makes the movie seem very light hearted and comical, but the actual movie was emotional, serious and sexual (seriously - there was a LOT of sex). The Kids Are All Right was also full ...
Airplanes
Last night I had one of my reoccurring nightmares (sadly I have a few that repeat) In this dream I was a witness to planes whose engines were failing in mid-flight and I seem to be the only one that hears and sees them come crashing back down to Earth. The scenery of these dreams is always different and the planes vary, but the crashes are always the same and always terrifying. Anyways that dream has had me thinking about airplanes all day, which got the BOB song (featuring Hayley Williams) of the same name stuck in my head. So I thought I would share it with everyone:
Ignite Denver 7
Last night I made the oh-so-long trek from Boulder to Denver for Ignite Denver 7, and it was definitely worth it!
DuckDuck Deal in Boulder
So I am trying to get back into blogging. My friend Joel wrote a post on his company's blog that inspired me to try to get back into writing (and hopefully publishing) for my blog. What better to start with than to write about my experience with a local company DuckDuck Deal. They have been around since April 6th and while I knew about them back in April, I didn't use them until last week. To be honest I had kind of forgotten about DuckDuck Deal despite having their iPhone app installed on my phone (I have 10 pages of apps...I know, I know). I will admit that ...
Did Facebook just copy Twitter?
Not sure if I just missed this feature from awhile ago, but I just noticed that when you hover over a friend's name on Facebook, you get a pop up similar to what Twitter implemented awhile ago. Personally I like the way Facebook has implemented this a little more than Twitter, but only because it shows you a little more information about how you are related to the person (ie 16 people in common). I wish that the Twitter pop up gave more information without having to click 'more' or the cog button. I always open a Twitter profile in another tab because to me I care more ...
My First iPad!
Yesterday I went and waited in line to buy the new iPad that operates on both wifi and 3G. They went on sale at 5:00pm at the local stores, and since I didn't have the foresight to pre-order mine online I had to wait in line. It was a bit chilly, took about 45 minutes, but it was worth it! So far I love my new toy and all of the incredible apps that are built for the iPad, but in order to get the most out of it, I want to be able to take it around with me. Right now I can't just ...
Topeka.com the new Google.com
Today is one of those days where you cannot believe anything you hear, see or read on the internet. I am tempted to just turn off Twitter and ignore the internet all day. That being said, I do love Google's new name! And Google's mobile location finding service: And of course the vowel outage:
Sweet Little Lies (Lauren Conrad’s Book) Review
When I first heard that Lauren Conrad of the Hills had a book out, I was skeptical. I mean what was she going to write about and why would I care? After I heard that it was about a reality show that takes place in LA, I knew I would read it, because you know it has to be based off of her experiences with Laguna Beach and The Hills.
Check.in – Good Idea, Needs Some Work
Check.in is an HTML5 site that allows you to check in on Brightkite, Gowalla and Foursquare at the same time, which seems like an awesome idea, except it is missing some of the features that make those other applications great.
