My (tentative) plan for FoCoMX

With over 250 bands, djs and artists and only 2 days, planning out my schedule for the 3rd annual FoCoMX was a bit difficult! This year FoCoMX teamed up with Sched.org to create the website and schedule. They make it really easy to plan your weekend! All you have to do is create a login and select the bands you want to see. You can even link Sched.org to your Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare accounts to track where your friends are going to be. Current Musical Obsession – AWOLNATION

While at SXSW I got an email from my mom saying that this was her new favorite band and they were playing at Stubb's that night and my brother and I should try to go. I ended up going to the show alone, but AWOLNATION was awesome! I am so glad I checked them out. Their live show consists of actual instruments as opposed to the overly produced electronic version heard here (which is still really good). I had listened to them briefly before going to SXSW because I loved their song "Sail" but after seeing them live, this is my favorite song, "MF". WARNING: Lyrics ...

Another reason to love my iPhone camera

Last week I went down to Denver to see my brother play the drums with a local band Life in Electric.  Since it was my brother (and since I do this at every single show I go to) I was taking pictures with my iPhone and my  Sony DSC-N2. The strobe lights were flashing, the fog machine was running, which all equated to one thing - my brother (being the drummer) was not visable. :( Flash didn't help as it illuminated the fog, no flash didn't work because he moves around so much.  Instead I discovered how much fun taking iPhone pictures with a strobe light ...
