Here are just a few videos from FoCoMX that I have taken over the past few years. I know I have many more, but sometimes I get overwhelmed with the number of photos and videos I take, so I will try to add more over the coming days.

There are so many bands participating this year, it has been really hard for me to come up with a schedule. Below is round one of my tentative schedule for the weekend. I know it is lofty as many of the bands play at the same time, but I am going to do my best to see as many bands as I can!

Back again this year are the free buses to take you from Old Town to Road 34 up to Chippers Lanes and even up to Bar SS.

There are 2 panels in the early afternoon that I *highly* recommend. I learned a lot from the panels last year, and this year is bound to be no exception. Please wake up “early” and make it down for those at 1:00 and 3:00 pm. Back to the bands:

Aimee shared this video with me early, and I cannot get over how creative it is, and how I relate to it (with the social networks at least).

I haven’t really paid attention to the movie/trailer for Mirror Mirror at all, but this video definite piques my interest! Plus, this video showcases my exact frustrations with Skype! (Stupid Snow White, I mean spammers).

Yeah, it took me a minute too. They changed the Gmail icon in the top left corner into a Google logo. “So what,” you say? Well, that also changes where you are linked to. For the past few years (hard to tell how long it has existed there) you could click on the Gmail and be taken to your inbox. Now? You click Google, and NOTHING HAPPENS, hence the doubling of time spent in Gmail, because I sit… and wait for the inbox to load. Until I realize it is doing nothing. Now to get back to the inbox I have to train myself to try one of the following options.

Hit the back button:

which will only take you back to the inbox if that is where you last were (which, let’s face it, isn’t likely).

Click the arrow next to Gmail and then select Gmail….again:

Hit the inbox text under the compose button on the left (which didn’t occur to me at first…thanks LeVar):

And finally, hit the Gmail in the black bar at the top, which will refresh the page completely (and make all of your chats disappear, dammit):

Also? It isn’t consistent. Sometimes when I log in I see the Gmail logo, and others I see Google. How am I supposed to re-train my hands to click the arrow, then select Gmail to get to the inbox when it isn’t there half the time?

I understand that Google is redesigning and trying to streamline their UI and processes (privacy notifications anyone?) but this change seems to have taken 5 steps back (or at least added 2 too many possible clicks).

Why does this matter? In case you didn’t realize, it is 2012. If you are 27 minutes late with the news, you are old school. Add another 33 minutes on to that? Chopped liver. So, why do the Grammys insist on treating everyone in the Mountain (and Pacific) Time Zone(s) like we do not deserve to watch these shows in real time?

When the Grammys go from show to commercial, they pride themselves in saying “Follow us on Twitter and Facebook!” but that just screws us all in these states which do not matter as they are posting all the winners as they happen…live! Which means EVERYTHING is already ruined for me.

This is not just a problem with the Grammys, but many awards shows (*ahem* Emmys *ahem*) are shunning these time zones. They need to realize that it is all or nothing these days. If you aren’t watching it/reading it/tweeting it live, then you are so “30 seconds ago.” Sports get it! The Superbowl wasn’t tape delayed. That would be stupid, right? Why doesn’t music get the same respect?

The music industry as a whole is seeking more respect for their craft and artistry, but the same must be reciprocated. People that view the Grammys are the die-hard fans. The loyal ones. These people are also living in a digital age and issues like this matter. People will not continue to put up with this bullshit, they will find other means to either watch or they will boycott these shows.

Grammys (and all “live” award ceremonies) what do you say? Can we fix this delay ‘problem’?

People of the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones (and those that believe in equality) let’s show the Grammys that we DO matter! Please RT this and tag @TheGrammys on Twitter (#grammys) and post on Facebook/TheGrammys to show them we are sick of being treated like this!
